Rosie doesn't need to do anything like this, she is tired and going to bed. But she's cosy and happy, has her mug of tea and slippers and nightcap. Along with Ed with the Bread, and Val with the Pal, she's one for the collector's shelf!

All of my creations are totally handmade by me. I start with wheel-thrown white stoneware clay, then add on hand-built ducky features to build the character. I decided Rosie should have a cup of calming tea, some little slippers, and a cosy nightcap (think the "snork, mimimimi" style). I then underglaze the colours, biscuit fire to 900'c then transparent glaze and fire to stoneware 1220'c. At this temperature the glaze becomes glossy and smooth and you're left with a new ceramic companion. A lot of work, but some cute little results.
