GPSR Update

Richard Moonstreet Ceramics

You may have seen the news that GPSR (Global Packaging and Shipping Regulations) are dropping in December. It is for the best and is designed to limit a lot of low quality stuff on the market, but there are challenges involved for makers and small businesses. As a ceramic artist and shop owner, I've witnessed firsthand the complexities that come with navigating GPSR, but I think I am there...

So the important announcement here is that: I will continue to ship to Europe and Northern Ireland.

A summary of GPSR

GPSR, or the Global Packaging and Shipping Regulations, is a comprehensive set of guidelines and standards designed to promote the safe and sustainable transportation of a wide range of goods, including the delicate world of ceramics. These regulations aim to minimize the risk of dangerous goods being produced, as well as reduce damage, breakage, and environmental impact during the shipping process.

At the heart of GPSR lies a focus on responsible making and packaging, ensuring that each item of pottery is carefully cushioned, protected, and secured to withstand the rigors of the journey, but also that they are made safely and correctly in the first place and won't cause any harm to the end user
